Beautiful Urquhart and Loch Ness

There has been a fort or castle at Urquhart for around 1,500 years and it has changed hands many times between Scotland and England and various Clans.


Loch Ness lies in the Great Glen between modern day Inverness and Fort William. In the past the lochs and rivers of the Great Glen were the highways in a time before roads. Controlling the Castle at Urquhart meant you could control the area.
